My name is Chris Frey, founder of Advanced Timber Manufacturing, LLC. The company was formed in 2004 with great consideration for the need for engineering skills in the timber manufacturing and design industry. I received my engineering degree from the Swiss School of Engineering for the Wood Industry in 1999 and specialize is structural engineering, detail design, and manufacturing solutions for heavy timber structures commercial and residential buildings.

With almost 20 years of experience in the heavy timber industry, I have worked in a variety of positions from master carpenter to foreman. I understand the needs and capabilities of each level in a company's hierarchy since I have experienced each stage. I have worked in several companies in Switzerland, Australia and in the US implementing new technologies, reorganizing processing flows, training operators with new equipment and software.

The heavy timber industry in the United States is going through a huge transition with more businesses realizing the need or desire to upgrade their operations to modern processing solutions. Companies frequently switch from a traditional hand cutting operation to CNC manufacturing and are faced with new challenges. We offer a wide range of consulting services to help our customers make the transition to CNC Machinery an easy task.
